The 2024 Groove Gala is coming FAST – we’re already less than three months away! On Saturday, April 20th, the Spare Key team is excited to welcome you back to spend a night celebrating the work of Spare Key at our annual Groove Gala presented by Network Title, Inc. at The Renaissance Depot in downtown Minneapolis!
No matter if you're a Groove Gala regular, newbie, or just curious about the event, we have plenty of opportunities for you to join in on the fun! Whether you're looking to purchase a table with ten tickets or just want to join in on the fun with a VIP or standard individual ticket, we have a variety of sponsorship packages and ticket options available for you or your company to choose from.

Every year, we strive to create a unique experience different from the year prior. And this year is no different! We are excited to announce we have NEW games and entertainment planned to shock and delight attendee. I personally am VERY excited about these new additions. I’m sure they will become fan favorites and stick around for years to come! BUT I can't reveal too much just yet – you'll have to join us to see for yourself.
The theme for the 2024 Groove Gala is RED!
Many of our past attendees will know EXACTLY what we are talking about when we mention the theme being voted on at the 2023 Groove Gala. Each year, Spare Key has played the game “Heads or Tails” with participants competing to win the honor of picking the following year’s theme! When the theme “Red” was selected, my immediate thought was the RED CARPET! This year, we will be shining the spotlight on our Help Me Bounce program, the families we serve, and of course, donors like YOU that support our mission each year. So put on your (red!) dancing shoes and as prepare for a memorable evening walking the Spare Key red carpet at our 2024 Groove Gala!

As I've mentioned in past blog posts, the Spare Key team is a small group of just 4 individuals, so we are always seeking volunteer assistance at our events to ensure their success. Especially at the Groove Gala, which welcomes over 700 attendees and 100+ volunteers, at our largest event of the year!
The Groove Gala holds a special place in my heart as it is my absolute favorite event organized by Spare Key. From a massive silent auction to various games, photo booths, delectable drinks, and delicious food, this event guarantees a fantastic time for both guests and volunteers. If you're interested, we are in need of volunteers for the entire weekend, with shifts available starting from Friday morning until Sunday morning assisting with the event's tear-down.
What does being a Groove Gala volunteer entail?
Being a volunteer at the Groove Gala involves various responsibilities. Throughout the weekend, there are plenty of volunteer shifts available. On Friday (4/19), the day starts with unloading and organizing event materials. Saturday (4/20) morning is dedicated to event set-up, while Saturday night is when the real magic happens. During the event, there are many different volunteer tasks, such as being a game host, assisting with registration, setting up and tearing down the silent auction, helping with the live auction and more! On Sunday morning, everything is gathered up and loaded back onto the truck before heading out. It's important to note, food and beverages will be available during all volunteer shifts. Volunteers working the event will also be provided an awesome Spare Key t-shirt to wear during their shift!
