    Premature Birth

Hello all!!! My name is Katie and my husband and I welcomed our 4th little miracle on November 23rd, at 34 weeks by emergency c-section. I went into labor and had a placental abruption. Noah was born and transfered immediately to our Children's hospital in St.Paul, MN. This is all so new to us as I had full term pregnancies in the past. Noah was originally sedated and on full oxygen support to begin with. He is now doing so amazingly well and going "slow and steady" like his Doctors say. We are looking at him coming home on his due date of January 3rd. With that being said we are a homeschooling family of now, 6, (My hubby Dave and I, Jaxx (10), Lennan(7), Emma(5) and Noah (36 weeks gestation) and we are driving daily back and forth roughly 45 minutes each way to feed and hold our little Noah. I am a self employed, part-time hair stylist and I rent a space in our small town. This unexpected delivery of our son has left us struggling to pay a couple bills, especially during the most expensive time of year as it is. Although, our kiddos understand Christmas is not just about gifts, it has a true meaning and we are so fortunate for their little brother and his health. Being self employed, I get no PTO or maternity leave and December is my busiest month, this is what we were counting on for my maternity leave. We are adjusting to our new daily routine and we know it's what's best for Noah at this time. We also understand today's economy is hurting so many but we are beyond grateful and humbled for any help at this time. Sometimes, especially as a parent, it is so hard to ask for help or admit you are struggling. Thank you for taking the time to read this and my hope is that your holiday season is filled with so much JOY!!

    One day at a time!

Noah did a solid week with no oxygen support!! However, now we are back on light oxygen. Homeschool looks differently as we have it set up in Noah's room in the NICU! Thank you everyone!!
