Aurelia Brienne was born July 16 with an omphalocele. That means her abdominal organs were on the outside of her body in a sac. After birth, I found out she also has a coarcatation of the aorta and a large VSD (hole in her heart). She also has slightly small lungs because of the omphalocele and, because of the heart issues, has severe pulmonary hypertension. She is now 8 weeks old and still intubated. She is not stable enough to do anything that she needs done right now so we're just trying different medications and hoping for the best. She is on a paralytic, heavily sedated, lots of pain meds, etc.
