My son Theodore was having symptoms of what we assumed was a tapeworm. So, we thought " no big deal. We will just bring him in and get it treated. It would have been a simple solution. But, it was far from easy. We took him to the local emergency room. There we were told that it was not a worm. It was something " meaty". Bloodwork was done. His blood levels and liver function were far from the desired ranges. Many more tests were done. Many overnight hospital stays. He was diagnosed with leukemia in August 2018. We make many long stays, a week and sometimes more, to various hospitals. Money is tight, but as long as bills get paid and my son gets the help he needs we always find a way to make things work.
