    Name
    Oliver Seira
    Injury/Illness
    Premature Birth

We’re the Seira family residing in the southern metro area. We have an almost 3 year old named Bodhi and Devon (mom) had been pregnant with baby number 2.

On April 27th at 35 weeks and 1 day her water broke and later that day gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Oliver.  Since he is preterm he needed to go to the NICU shortly after his birth, which is where he still resides.  He needs to gain stamina to eat on his own and that has been a day by day adventure. He gets majority of his food through a feeding tube.  Mom is working on breastfeeding and pumping each feeding as well. We don’t know how long we’ll be here with him, but are comforted by the amazing care he’s reviving at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul.

Seven weeks prior baby’s preterm arrival Branden (dad) had a server herniated disc causing him major leg pain, which then resulted in immediate surgery 2 weeks before Oliver decided to come.  He has been out of work since his severe symptoms started. He works for a small remodeling company with no benefits no disability and where there is no pay if he is not working. He also has no personal disability insurance. His job requires manual labor so it will still be another month until he’s out of the recovery red zone where he can safely work.  Devon is self employed, so also doesn’t get paid while not working during her maternity leave.

It is also incredibly hard not being able to be with our 2 year old as well, except for every few days for a few hours. Luckily we have amazing family he’s been able to stay with.

Our mortgage and monthly bills are becoming burdensome, so we appreciate any support you’re able to provide.

Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and please keep us in your prayers that we will be able to go home sooner than later.
