My wife and I were told  the chance of us having kids was 'very slim'. But after 5 years of trying we were blessed by YHWH with a little boy we never thought we would have!  We named our sweet boy Cayde because in Hebrew it means round, and battle hardened.  My wife and I understand life to be a constant struggle and through these struggles we can either let it tear us down, or we can learn from it and allow it to make us stronger. 

Cayde's middle name is Michael, who was my best friend and mentor through a good portion of my early adult life.  Michael was diagnosed with Cancer in his saliva glands and was told he only had 6 months to live, he never complained about his diagnosis and fought it with everything he had giving him an additional 6 years of life before passing away this Christmas being only a few days short of meeting Cayde. 

I never would imagine that Cayde would be subject to such a fight the moment he was born leaving him with respiratory complications and a stay in the NICU.  My wife and I are taking this difficult moment as an opportunity to rely on YHWH and trust in him.  It isn't easy, but nothing good ever is.
