Carter was born premature at 33 weeks on 5/21. He currently is in the NICU at Sanford Health. When he was born, he was having some breathing issues and was placed on a Cpap machine to help with this. We were thankful that he wasn't on the Cpap machine for very long and is now breathing on his own. He also is out of the incubator and in a normal crib. Right now, Carter needs to improve on his feedings as we currently do most of his feeding through a NG tube. We continue to work on bottle feeding and breastfeeding and we hope he will accomplish one or both soon. We are grateful for all the care we have received during this time and look forward to the day Carter can be discharged home.
