Our family has endured profound financial struggles due to my daughter's ongoing chronic health issues. Countless doctor's appointments, relentless needle pricks, and an endless barrage of tests have become the painful backdrop of her young life. At just 21 years of age, she has faced challenges that most can hardly imagine, culminating in a recent crisis that necessitated 24-hour supervision and around the clock care.
As her mother and sole provider, I have had to make the heart-wrenching decision to take time off work repeatedly to be by her side. This has placed an immense strain on our family's finances. We are now navigating the complex process of seeking disability benefits for her, as the medications essential to her survival come with a staggering price tag running into thousands of dollars.
