We moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota this past July to give our kids a better life and to start fresh and used everything we had to make it possible. Unfortunately the unexpected happened. After complaining of a stomach ache for 3 days, our 4 year old(Leyaliz) daughter's temperature rose to 104.1 and we rushed her to the hospital for what we thought was a stomach bug but turned out was way worse. It turned out that Leya had appendicitis and needed surgery to remove her appendix. Surgery went well but since her appendix had ruptured, she has to stay in the hospital for at least 3 days and could be longer depending on how she recovers. At the time, she not doing too well and the stay looks like it's going to be longer. Due to hospital visiting policy, her dad has to stay home and watch our other 2 kids and mom is staying by Leya's side 24/7 since she's so scared being in a hospital and in pain. Which means we can't go to work for a week which we can't afford to do but have no choice. We just want our daughter to get better and back to her happy, playful self.
