    Name
    Kade Kuhnke
    Injury/Illness
    Leukemia

Kade was hospitalized in January with RSV for a week after he was discharged he didn’t walk again. I told his doctor that she said to give him a week because he might be just traumatized from the hospital. He also started whining a lot I knew it was different like he sounded like he was in pain. March 12th 2024 I called to get him in cus I noticed dots all over his legs, the nurse said it’s more than likely due to him getting a high temp fast. We set up an apt. 3/15/24 I woke up and checked on him and his eyes looked puffy. I brought him in they did a CBC blood draw, he got transferred via ambulance and I was told that night all the levels and everything are indicating leukemia. 3/18/24 we got his subtype. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia. 3/26/24 he had his central line/ port placement we were finally discharged&first chemo administered via spinal. 3/29/24 we went to his first outpatient apt & Kade got admitted-sepsis pseudomonas and they found two blood clots in his lung & one in his spleen. The doctors said working right now is unrealistic unless I have someone who is educated on how to provide care for Kade. He was discharged April 16th. He’s been going to chemo getting IV chemo administered via spinal tap every Friday. Taking a blood thinner twice a day. It’s gonna be a long road. But he’s so resilient.
