At this time, we have had to adjust to a circumstance that most of us only dream of: Our Brother was in an unfortunate incident and has been severely burned with 3rd and 4th-degree burns on the entire upper half of his torso, including his face. Thankfully, he has survived; unfortunately, he has had all his fingers amputated on his dominant hand and has completely lost the other hand. With this change he will have to learn to navigate life in a whole new way. This has become a pressing time for family and friends. We have had to rally together to ensure we can do all we can to support him in his recovery. However, he resides here in Utah on the West Coast, and we (his immediate family) currently reside on the East Coast in North Carolina. He’s presently at the University of Utah Hospital in the Burn Intensive Care Unit. The doctors predict that there will be a minimum of a 24-month recovery. We want to be there for what may be one of the most trying times in his life. We have managed to make the necessary adjustments but fear we will not be able to sustain him in the way he will need. We all know, it comes with a lot of uncertainty and expenses, the cost of flights, living accommodations, daily transportation, and just the basics of everyday living. We appreciate all the prayers and support.
