We will be in the NICU until their due date of April 16th, 2025 - With two kids at home who are not allowed in the NICU and traveling back and fourth to be at home with our kids and animals, and back to the NICU to be with our babies we have a long road ahead of us.

    The Story:
Our pregnancy journey had its ups and downs with minor complications along the way, but by Christmas Eve morning, we were given the all-clear and feeling hopeful. Little did we know that just a few days later, on Sunday, December 30th, Millie’s water would break at 4 a.m., sending us on an unexpected adventure to the hospital. Since Monticello isn’t equipped to care for tiny preemies, we were told we’d need to be transferred. I took an ambulance ride to St. Cloud Hospital, where Cullen—amazingly—managed to beat the ambulance there! From the moment we arrived, the medical team was nothing short of incredible. We went through tests, steroid shots, magnesium drips, and everything else they could do to help. But after 24 hours, there was still little progress.

At that point, it became clear I wouldn’t be leaving the hospital until the girls made their debut. The question was: would it be days, weeks, or even months? It was all up to them. Early the next morning, around 7 a.m., Cullen was getting ready to head home to grab clothes and supplies for the road ahead. Just before he left, we asked the doctor to check in one more time—and the girls had decided they weren’t waiting for the new year! What followed was a whirlwind, chaotic delivery, but thanks to the incredible care team at St. Cloud Hospital, both babies arrived safely.

We are so grateful for the love and support surrounding us and thankful for every hand that helped bring our girls into the world. This adventure has been filled with surprises, and we’re blessed to have our family and friends along for the ride!
