My name is LaSaundra Hewitt, and I am a 47-year-old female from Georgia. In March 2024, I was diagnosed with Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of skin cancer. This diagnosis has drastically altered my life, making it impossible for me to work while I focus on treatments and healing.

I am also the founder of iamALIVE, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people who have experienced bullying. Through my work, I’ve helped countless youth build confidence, resilience, and find hope in the face of adversity. Unfortunately, my own battle with cancer has brought my work to a halt as I navigate this challenging time.

In addition to my illness, my husband is disabled, and we are struggling to keep up with our household bills, mortgage, and the ever-growing pile of medical expenses. I haven’t been able to see my primary care doctor in months because of the financial strain.
