The Harmer Family
Our Story
Hello world, meet baby Maverick born 8/11/22 he was so eager to come he joined us at 38w4d. He is the youngest of 5 between our blended family. We were informed shortly after birth that he has a cleft pallet. We tried a few bottles to find out that he was aspirating and would need a G-tube since eating by mouth wasn't safe. Mommy has been out of work since early on in pregnancy due to being high risk. Daddy has stayed with us until today (8/19/22) he has had no choice but to leave and drive over 2 1/2 hours one way to try and keep up with paying for a house we haven't slept in and our other bills that have added up. But we won't go home till he comes home with us. Through all of this we continue to stay strong. Thank you.

Baby Mav is just under 5months. He has now received his Mickey button (yesterday) still asking for positive thoughts.

Today (9/8). We had a few appointments, unfortunately baby boy failed his hearing test and will most likely need tubes. His lower jaw isn't growing as it should and surgery may be needed. On the upside my little honey doesn't show any signs of hip dysplasia. His eating is moving in the right direction and he's gaining weight as he should. We continue to ask for the positive thoughts and continued prayers. Thank you for everything.

We have been discharged as of (8/25) and so incredibly satisfied with the amazing staff and caretakers of our son. We have learned so much and will continue to learn each and every day! Thank you for the positive wishes and thoughts. We will continue to update as we move forward in this journey. His appointment on Monday (8/29) was amazing. Baby Mav is exactly 8lbs and doing wonderful. His appointments next week will help us answer a few more questions and hopefully he can move up from a preemie nipple to maybe a size more suitable for his age🙏 thank you all again for the love and support during this journey of life.
