    Name
    Bennett Hanson
    Injury/Illness
    Brain Tumor

Bennett has been suffering from terrible migraines since late spring early/summer of 2024.  Bennett and Amanda and other family members had attended many appointments in attempts to figure out what was causing the severe head pain, nausea and other symptoms. On 12/23/24 he was at a scheduled MRI with his dad, Michael, to rule out anything from a prior Neuro. appt. he had about a month ago. This appointment did not go well for Bennett. He was admitted to the Emergency Room on the findings of the MRI (he has not left the hospital since that date).

Bennett was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor 4cm by 6cm, which has masked itself as chronic migraines. He was told this news in the ER.  He took a deep breath with his sister, mom, and dad by his side and said "It is okay, I have Jesus by my side." He underwent surgery this past Friday (12/27).  After his last MRI (12/29), it appears that they may have removed most (if not all) of a large and aggressive tumor. We know he has medulloblastoma but not the subtype yet.  There are many unanswered questions. We know it will be 4-6 weeks of recovery from the surgery date for Bennett.  His profound faith has always been unwavering throughout his life. He has been holding a cross he received from his confirmation since the diagnosis and passing it his mom or family to hold continuously. He loves to read about history, skiing, and golf. Bennett has a quick wit and sarcastic sense humor.

Please, keep Bennett, Amanda, and his entire family in your thoughts.  Amanda and Bennett are very thankful for your continued support and prayers. .

Thank you all in advance for your support of this brave young man.

    Bennett’s Journey (second surgery)

Bennett had his second surgery today to place his IVAD and receive his spinal tap. He receives care at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He did very well in this surgery. It was much easier than the first to remove his brain tumor. He will begin treatments with the ProTon Beam on 1/27/25.
