Story
Alissa and Tony Dupont are close friends of my wife Cortny and I. On May 3rd 2019, Tony and Alissa's 10 week old son, Beck, was diagnosed with Spinal Meningitis which is an infection of the fluid and membranes around the brain and spinal cord. Once infection starts, it can spread rapidly through the body. Without treatment it can cause brain damage in a matter of hours and can be fatal within 24 hours. Currently, Beck is doing well... many of the nurses have described him as a miracle baby. With this being said, he still has a long road to recovery ahead and the family will endure a rollercoaster of emotions through the ups and downs of this devastating disease. While we are hoping and praying for more miracles and a full recovery for baby Beck, the specialists are not sure what the future will look like for him.
Baby Beck is surviving via wonderful care at both the Avera and Sanford Children's Hospitals. Alissa and Tony's family and friends have been providing a tremendous amount of emotional support through this very difficult time but little has been done to offset the financial difficulties that their family has already encountered and will see in the future. Please consider donating to help this amazing family and support Beck's fight for recovery.
For those that may not be close to the Dupont family, both Tony and Alissa are proud small business owners within the Sioux Falls Community. They also have two other children, a daughter Mia and a son Decker (ages 10 and 2 respectively). The money raised in this fund will be used to assist with current and future medical costs and aid in lost wages during their son's recovery.
