My name is Sarah Darling, I am 31 years old and was just recently diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in my liver, femur, hip bone, sternum and spine. I have 2 young children 10 and 7 boy and girl respectively. I am also engaged to my fiance Nick. We have been together for 12 years. In April of 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma (Breast Cancer). After 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with reconstruction and 25 rounds of radiation therapy I was given a clean bill of health and was told I was cancer free. This past November, the friday before thanksgiving i was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC after a compression fracture was detected in my L5 vertebrae of my spine. This came as a complete shock to myself and my family. Since then i have had several appointments and a couple surgeries, one to put in a port for infusions and blood draws and another just a few weeks ago to place a titanium rod in my right femur to stabilize that bone so it won't fracture. I am healing from that surgery and getting better and moving towards a more normal range of motion and mobility soon! My support system is small but strong and I am so grateful for them all! Although I was not given a life expectancy at this time, I am fully committed to living each day as if it were my last. That is the reason for my creation of this profile. I am hoping someone out there will see this and be so grateful as to help my family pay for our rent so we can save some money to afford a vacation, we have never been on a family vacation before and we just want to create as many memories as we can!
