The Brenner Family

I am 47. I have been on Social Security Disability since 2012 mainly for my rare lung condition; Restrictive Lung Disease. I only have 44% lung capacity and get tired, feeling winded walking more than half a parking lot or going up more than 3 steps. I was trying to return to work FT and was working as an insurance fraud investigator for about 16-months. I was placed on Furlough in April 2020 due to Covid. The company is located in FL with employees spread through the Nation. In March 2020, I was diagnosed with Influenza A and Acute pneumonia. For about 4 months I was in and out of Urgent Cares and the ER for IV fluids. I couldn't stay hydrated. My veins were often flat that I looked like a human pin cushion from many attempts to get an IV in. Due to my lungs, I have a weak immune system. I get the flu shot every year; pneumonia vaccine every 5 years and now, I have had 3 of the Pfizer vaccine and the flu shot. In July 2020, I was laid off due to Covid.

When I am not working, I am writing nonfiction books. I have 9 books published. I am currently working on #10 and 11. Pen-Name: Joshua B. Seth. I write Self-Help books for Victims and Survivors of Child Abuse, Sexual Violence, Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Violence, Child Kidnappings (AMBER), PTSD, and Eating Disorders (anorexia and bulimia). I do not keep any royalties. They are automatically sent to organizations like the RAINN Foundation, and Wounded Warriors. In addition, for about 10 years, I have managed 7 Support Groups in Facebook on many of these subjects as a Peer-to-Peer virtual group setting with members globally.

When I am not doing these, I am out with friends and going to and volunteering at my nondenominational church. I have my  BS/MS in Criminal Justice and Criminology and Administration with dual emphases in Counseling, Gender Studies, and Soft Target Counter Terrorism. However, I am unable to work in this industry due to my lung disorder and PTSD. Due to Covid precautions and my weakened immune system, I really need to find work from home or in the field but have been unsuccessful. I have been unable to secure an additional income to my disability to help keep my bills current.
