Hello, my name is Lemlem Metaferia. I am 44-years-old and was recently diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. I have undergone Radiation Therapy and continue on an oral chemotherapy. I work as a CNA for an Assisted Living Facility. Given my ongoing treatment and reduced immunity, I have had to work less hours which has impacted my family's financial security. I live with my husband, Ben and our three kids, ages 12, 10, and 8. My 10-year-old daughter has special needs that require additional care. My spouse, Ben has had to miss work intermittently to ensure that I get to necessary appointments and treatment.  We are looking for extra help with medical bills that are piling along with ongoing living expenses. The kids are in private school, which requires annual tuition.

My husband and I have sacrificed a lot to send our kids there and give them a good future. It is important to us that they continue to have opportunities and that this not be altered by my illness. I am on a long-term medication that may end up becoming more expensive as it is costly, and insurance only covers a portion. We also have family in Ethiopia who rely on us to send money back home. Between that, the cost of our mortgage, gas, food, and other necessities, we would so appreciate additional help with finances. Thank you.
