Declan was born 6 weeks early due to his mother developing preeclampsia. When he was born his lungs were very immature even after having two rounds of steroids to develop his lungs. He was admitted to nicu immediately after delivery and was placed on cpap and given meds to develop his lungs and help him breathe. He also was placed on bili lights for jaundice and placed in an isolete because he struggled to maintain his tempurates. He was in nicu for 18 days.
